Hi there!

I’m Selma and my journey with yoga started back in São Paulo, Brazil in a search to relieve stress from my chaotic life as an Event Account Manager. After my first yoga class, I knew it would change my life. I moved to Amsterdam in 2016, completed my first Teacher Training, and started teaching immediately. After some years of teaching, I felt the need to expand my knowledge to guide prenatal students safely in class, so I completed a Prenatal Teacher Training course in 2021. I’m sure now that I found my purpose: to make Vinyasa Yoga accessible for everyone, with special attention to prenatal students so they can have a positive pregnancy experience, with comfort and confidence.

Her Story

Born in Brazil, I lived in São Paulo for many years and used to work in advertising, as an Events Account Manager. The city and the life there were hectic! So I decided to try yoga to reduce stress and find more balance in my body and mind, and I found the most inspiring human being to guide me, Jozé Luiz Corradi, also known as Zé Yoga.

Stepping into that room, and looking at that smiley teacher, little did I know that one hour and something of weird poses mingled with Sanskrit mantras was about to change my life. I walked out of that class feeling joyful, renewed, and lighthearted. I wanted more and soon I found out yoga was way deeper than only the physical movement.

My passion was growing alongside my practice and, moving to Amsterdam in 2016, was the perfect trigger to take the next step: leave advertising behind and dive completely into the world of yoga. So I took my chance: I completed a solid 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in 2017 and started teaching right away.

Time went by and, even though I was fulfilled and happy teaching, as I got more classes in my schedule, I started to often have pregnant and postpartum students in the room. This awakened my curiosity about how to safely teach them. It was then in 2021, amidst the pandemic, that I had the opportunity to follow Jennifer More through an amazing journey in the pre and postnatal yoga universe, having completed an 85-hour Prenatal and Postnatal Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training.

After this training, I was sure that I found my purpose: to teach accessible Vinyasa Yoga for all levels and all bodies, with special attention to guiding pregnant students safely so they can enjoy their journey through pregnancy and parenthood to the fullest.

The same passion that drove me to where I am now, is the one I try to bring to each class, in every movement, in every breath, with careful attention for all students, whether in private or group classes, whether pure fresh or long-time practitioner. In the end, I hope that everyone leaves the class joyful, renewed, and lighthearted and that they get inspired to build a beautiful and honest relationship with themselves through yoga.
