Hello!

My name is Iina and I have always used dance as a way to express myself, finding strength and confidence through movement. Over time, I combined dance with meditation and somatics to create my own intuitive practice, now known as Movement Meditation at Karunika. My mission is to help others reconnect with their bodies, explore authentic self-expression, and embrace radical self-acceptance through movement.

Her Story

I have always been a dancer at heart – dancing through life has been my truest form of self-expression. As a shy and insecure child, movement was the only way I could truly connect with myself, cultivating strength and healthy confidence. Over the years, I explored a variety of dance styles, learning from international teachers, choreographers, and immersing myself in workshops and intensives. However, it wasn't until I discovered ecstatic and intuitive dance that I deepened my understanding of the healing power of movement, realizing that dance could be a way to express myself authentically and process emotions without the pressure of performance. It was in this softer, more intuitive side of dance that I truly began to unfold.

As I delved deeper, I began integrating meditation and mindfulness practices into my dance, which led me to the world of somatics and nervous system regulation. Drawing from these various teachings, I developed my own intuitive movement practice, which I now teach as Movement Meditation at Karunika. This practice continues to evolve, breathing with me as I explore and learn from different methods.

At its core, this practice helps me reconnect with my body, explore what is alive within me, and embrace authentic self-expression. My mission is to share this journey of radical self-acceptance with each participant, inviting them to experience the same freedom and connection I’ve found through movement.
